Hello all.! Cause of the dead blog we have right here, so I've decided to give a post up here. :D We've just ended our Camp yesterday, so how's it? I had great fun especially the night trial. Sorry if you were scared by us due to the horror music we played or at the 3E3 classroom XD

Firstly, let's thank Mdm Wee, Ms Charmain Lee as well as Mr Qiu for the food and stuffs! :D
And also not forgetting Wendy, for the tasty muffins and cake :D
Plus the rest of the seniors for the sweets and lollipops and goodies :D
We'll miss you all, Sec 4s(!!!!!!)

Thanks to all Sec3s too, for the preparation of the activities and stuffs. Cause it turn out well. YAY. I love the powder game. But somewhat after the activity we had a hard time cleaning. XD
Congrats also to all best campers!

HEY GUYS!!! :D

How are all of you doing? I'm sure you miss choir practices, right? And right now.. I have good news!! Choir is resuming! But it's only going to resume on the first week of June, where we would be having our annual Choir Camp. Dates will be reconfirmed again. :D

Yeah. Be sure to work hard for your mid-years okay! :) It's really important. And to the sec4s and sec5s who are taking their 'O' levels this year, all the very best! Hope you guys would be able to cope well with the pressure. Yeah, I'm sure you guys can do it!

Oh and another thing, some of the sec3s are going to be performing for the lunchtime performance! Hahaha. It's on next Friday, 16th of April. It'll be in the canteen, I have no idea at which part. But it'll be in the canteen. Be sure to come down to support your choir mates who are performing during lunch! Hehehe.

I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL time yesterday! Just want to say that I am glad all of you put in your best effort for the choir and made the performance even better! From the several late practices to the even later rehearsals, I wanna say you guys did a great job! The choir has really bonded after this performance and we should always stay as united. You guys deserve a break and hope to see you refreshed and eager to sing the next time you guys meet.

Take good care of your health and throat okay! Yea, so people take not that the post below is edited. Which means, on 10th March, even though practice was canceled, you all are still expected to come for the outfit fitting. Timing to be confirmed again. :D

Here's the updated schedule.

9th March - No practice.

10th March - No practice, cancelled. BUT, people are still expected to come for the outfit fitting. TAKE NOTE!

12th March (Friday) - Full Dress Rehearsal, 1.30 - 10pm. Meet at music room.

13th March - Public Performance, 10am - 10pm.

Reminders:

- All the girls who have ordered black tee, please find Wendy in 5A1 classroom on Monday between 1.30pm - 2pm to pay her the 7bucks.

- All the guys are supposed to go to the Performers Lab on Monday between 2pm - 4pm to try out costumes.

- Those selected for the make-up course are to come on Monday, or you have to find somebody else to replace you if you cannot come.

Hey guys!! :D

It's the weekends - finally time for a break from all the common tests. I'm sure everyone did great for it. Haha. :)

And yes, Mr Qiu is now our official instructor. He'll be replacing Mr.Foong from now onwards. Yupp, we'll all miss Mr.Foong but I'm pretty certain Mr. Qiu would be of great help to us too. We'll have to co-operate with him, in order for our performances to be well. Especially the Public Performance in March, which is happening in just two weeks. So I hope you guys maintain the discipline in choir, alright? :D

& I hope everything has memorized their songs and also the actions because we have limited time left before the Public Performance. We need everyone's co-operation. & make sure that you're punctual for every practice. Don't forget to bring your file and a pencil with you too.

Please remember there's a practice on next Tuesday. All the lower sec are to come at 2.30pm. Please do not be late! Thanks. :)

Hey everyone!

For the Chinese New Year performance, a few of our lucky members were chosen to sing a song chosen by Ms.Hu. Who? Yes, Ms. Hu. It is called "Xin Nian Dao". The people performing / maybe performing are:

Yen Shan,Brenda,Sandra, Yi Cheen, Zhi Ting, Gina,Jing Han,Hong Ee,Jie long and Zhi Yong.

They will be performing together and will be practicing hard. So, lets all give them our support and cheer for them especially during their performance!! Jia You!

RULES & PROCEDURES (during choir practice):
1. All members are expected to be punctual for every practice.
2. Strictly NO use of handphones and other electronic devices during practices. Those caught using these will have their phones confiscated.
3. Absent members are expected to submit a medical certificate or provide a valid reason to teachers-in-charge (in advance where possible). Disciplinary action will be taken agaibnst frequently absent members who fail to provide valid reasons.
4. Discipline and order is to be maintained at all times during choir practices.

Please take note that there is NO choir tomorrow, Tuesday, 12Jan. Practice was cancelled to let us all rest after an intensive training last week. And yeah, some of the Sec3s couldn't make it due to HMT lesson too.

Everyone did really awesome for the performance today! Keep it up guys. Yeahh, we were loud. YAY!!!! Our efforts paid off, yeah? I hope we managed to attract some sec ones to join choir. HEHEE they really should!!

Hi everyone! Hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and had a good break. I have some announcements to make..

1) Preparation for CCA Carnival (Warning: CRAZY week ahead- just tahan ok)
CCA Carnival is happening on Sat 9 Jan 2010. We will have to put up an item, and it has to be a lively song. We will sing Mamma Mia if ev...eryone is ok with it? Bring whatever scores/lyrics you have of it next practice. I will need to meet with booth committee people soon.

2) Practice Schedule for first week of school
Mon 4 Jan: 2-4pm- choir practice@music/ava room
Tues 5 Jan: 3-5pm- Complusory school rehearsal for CCA Carnival (hall)
Wed 6 Jan: 330-530pm- choir practice@ music/ava room
Thur 7 Jan: 3-5pm- another compulsory school rehearsal for CCA Carnival (hall)
Fri 8 Jan: Prob after school hours- booth comm have to help with set up of booth
Sat 9 Jan: CCA Carnival itself! Booth people report at 8am. Rest of the choir report at 10am. The programme ends at 1230pm.

3) I know it's a
heavy week as you're required to come down almost everyday, but if there's any
strong/valid reason why you need to be excused, pls tell me personally in
advance and not disappear. If not you will be marked as absent without valid
reason

4) We will be having
a new teacher joinin...g us for choir, so pls welcome her warmly. I will intro her
next practice (this coming MON!)

5) I will be putting up all this info in a few days on the noticeboard so pls
check. Pls tell your friends who are not on FB or did not see this.

HEY EVERYONE!! :D

So, did you guys enjoy the outing? Bet you did, coz i certainly did! Hahaha. :> Although the weather weren't really perfect for a beach day, we still managed to have fun, agree? :D

I'd say we were all pretty bonded, yeah? Oh and for those who bowled, you guys did GREAT! I recorded some vids of people bowlin' but I haven't uploaded them up yet. Will upload it soon and don't be shocked if you see yourself in the vids! :D

And bravo to our first striker, Jamie! Followed by victor and then marissa. Woooooohoo. I'm not really sure of the final results but I think victor got first position. Hahaha. Congrats!!

Hey guys! It is the month of December and it's gonna be wet.. So hopefully it won't rain tmrw... Just in case, please bring your Umbrellas! Tmrw's Bonding Day will be at East Coast Park. We will play both games, bowling and picnic But the sequence will depend on the weather... Bowling when it rains and Picnic and games before it rains. We can all sing rain rain go away as warm ups. ..?!!!

Hey guys! Sorry, we forgot to include the activities during the bonding day on the previous post. So, here you go. :)

CHOIR BONDING DAY, 17th December 2009

Start : 12nn (meet at sch front gate)
End : approx. 6 pm
Activities : Bowling, kite flying and picnic
Cost of bowling : $2.90 per game

12nn - 12.10pm: meet at school front gate. Leave for bowling alley and have lunch together.

1.15pm: start bowling competition. (knock out system)

3.30pm: Finish bowling. Announce winners.

3.45-4.30pm: travel to East Coast/ Pasir Ris Beach

4.30 onwards: picnic and kite flying and Munching on Snacks!

We will be playing games during the picnic! So if you guys have any suggestions for the games, do feel free to give us your suggestions ok! :)

Apparently, some of us suggested for the outing to be at Sentosa. Hehh. Any objections? Or any other suggestions of places?

Yup, if it's gonna be at Sentosa, would you guys want to take the skyride and luge? HAHA. The price is quite reasonable. Around $7-$11. LOL. Or like, we can just hang out on the Siloso Beach and have some fun in the sun? HEEEEH. We can have our own mini picnic and games if you guys like.

Or if you guys want, we can have an ice-skating outing. It'll be fun!! HHAHA. The cost is around $10-12 per person for 2 hours but if we go as a large group, I'm sure there'll be a promotion. Just a suggestion though.

I'm still with the Sentosa idea though. I only hope it doesn't rain on that day. Hahaha. So tell me what you all think alright! Flood the tagboard with your comments. :)

Hey super sexy singers! :>

Guess what? We're gonna have a choir outing!!! Excited or not?!?!? HEEEEEHEE. Okay okay, relax. By the way, it's gonna be on 17th Dec. It's on a Thursday. We will all meet at at the school's front gate at 12noon. Do make yourself availabe okay! Coz it's gonna be a day where all of us can bond and have fun together as a choir.

Anyway, we still haven't decided on the activities we're gonna do. So we need suggestions!! HEHHE. I know many of you've got many awesome fun wacky ideas in your head right. Please do suggest some at the tagboard. Yup. Like... maybe we can go to Escape? Ice-skating? Bowling? Or a movie outing? Sky-diving (marissa suggested, HAHAHAAAAA) :) Just tag it! Huhu. ^^

And the approximate amount of money you have to bring is at least 10 dollars (exclusive of food). Yupp. It's gonna be worth it, I tell you. With all the high, crazy, hyper people in choir, how can you not have fun?! HAHA. (:

We got back all our results today! Hope everyone is satisfied and had at least tried your best! If you're not satisfied, don't worry! You still have time but you must definitely put in extra effort next time alright! Enjoy your holidays! Work hard and now it is time to PLAY HARD! For the Sec 3s, I understand how you feel... Extra lessons. (Think positive) YAY! More time to spend with our friends and more opportunities to buck up for O levels!

Let us not forget our dear seniors who led us all through SYF'o9 this year! This will be their last stretch so let us all give them our support! Good Luck For O Levels choir seniors!!!

First off, on behalf of the whole choir, I`d like to wish Mr Foong a HUGE HUGE HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Yeahh, haha. I`m not sure how old he is, but he sure is a year OLDER. Moohahahahaha. Hope you had a rockin` birthday today and to many great years ahead yeah! =)

Yeah. HHAHAHA. Oh anyway, the final year examinations are OVERRRRR. YAYYAYAYAY!!! hahaha. I bet many of you are enjoying your time right now. Hehehe. But don`t forget! Oh, we are so proud of our choir members. You know. I think we all should have an outing to Esplanade one day and watch Live Band at night. It's so cool! I go there almost every Saturday to watch live music to relief stress. And I think it's working. =p

Last night was a short musical just to entertain the audience. The actors/singers were Darius Tan, Sarah Rosa Tan and Julian Ong - I think. Ok so anyway, these people are playwrights. They wrote songs for The Peranakan Ball, Forbidden City and the one that we watched, BEAUTY WORLD (cha cha cha.... remember??? 2 years ago....) and many other local theatre productions. And this Sarah is a SOPRANO. And her voice is daaaaammn high. She told her story how she always got an ALTO part in plays, through her song. Haha. It's hilarious I tell you! All their songs have a funny story inside.

And also after the performance (it ended at about 10...???), there was a 'Make-your-own-music-video'. So you just sing any song, they'll give you a costume, and you just sing with that costume and they'll record you! How cool is that?!?!? And the best thing was.....IT'S FREEEEE!!!! And at the same time, in the Concourse, there was a mime from Thailand. Wah. My cheeks were so sore from laughing. Really man, ESPLANADE IS DA BOMB!

Aiya, after O levels we all go to Esplanade ok?!

Hello! Me here again!

Today was fun! And cold. And fun. And tiring. And fun. And thinking-that-money-grow-on-trees. Oh did I mention fun?

Anyways, I'm seriously BAD at counting. That's why I never think of doing business or becoming a businesswoman, or accountant or anything that's got to do with BANKING. I never do well when it comes to money. OK, so..... one of the funniest thing was we used a McDonald's plastic bag to collect money. The plastic bag isn't opaque. The whole WORLD can see what's inside ok! Haha! It was so embarrassing! And just so happens that my friend was there! So had to hide the money bag. OMG. How embarrassing could that be..... With all the people. And my hand stink of money! Haix... but, what are kind people for? =D

So, the next time there's an outing, chope yourself free ok? Maybe we can go to Sentosa???? Wooo....

P.S. $2.50 + $2.70 isn't the only one I'm blank at ok? I was blur for $10-$2.70 and $5-$2.70.

HEY EVERYONE!! Woohoo bowling was super fun man! Haha. Many weird funny things happened during the trip. For example :

1.The realisation of the fact that we could just eat and meet at kovan instead of wasting money eating at hougang mall. HA-Ha.

2. Finding out that Tirta is really bad at counting money and cannot live without her calculator. $2.50 + $2.70 = *blank mind*

3. Bowling balls can actually go backwards instead of rolling towards the pins. HAHAHA.

4. Riho likes singing weird japanese songs that no one understands.

5. We paid the money in a macdonald plastic bag and gave the counter lady a hard time.

6. We spent about a total of 30 mins collecting money to pay up for the bill. Thanks to some1 with a S.L.O.W mind. =p

Hey guys! I'm sure you guys have heard of the outing and hope you are going!

We have gotten some suggestions. Because we all have small pockets and tight budgets,we will not go for movies as its a little bit too expensive..Some parents are still holding on the their little children so we will go somewhere not too far. Even if we have big pockets and are allowed travel to sentosa..we still have to think for those who can't.

SO... We are going to meet up at 12nn at school front gate. DO NOT be late. We are going to head to hougang mall to have lunch together and then proceed to kovan heartland mall at around 1pm. From there we will go....BOWLING Baybeh! Haha.

I know some of your faces are like "what?!!" But here are the reasons.. Its cheaper.. and its not that far. haha. Those who cannot bowl are even more invited to come because you will learn how to while we laugh and cheer you on! It will be a whole lot of fun and i hope you guys wont miss it!

Please bring socks,entrance fee should be less that $5 and bring money for your lunch. Please be at sch front gate BY 12,can be sooner but never later! Enjoy your weekend and we will see you on monday! See ya guys soon!

OMG! I'm dying. I MISS CHOIR BADLY! I want exams to faster shoo away! Argh! I feel like I've lost touch of singing. Oh no! It's fading away! Rhymes with "Take me away.... a secret place .... a sweet escape .... take me away .... !!!!" I can't wait for choir camp! I know we're gonna have a blast! You know, to keep me distracted from studies for a tinsy winsy while (yes, I have to be distracted or else I can lock myself in the room for hours studying without knowing that my family went out), I already plan songs that I wanna burn for Blast Music session! Well that's if there's even going to be one. ^^

Hey there! I'm watching Fighting Spiders now. Omg that old crazy woman is damn freaky! Omg she's creeping up behind him! Duh, he's behind you!!! Faster run! Stop screaming already! Ok, I'm laughing like mad here! Haha! *chokes on banana*

Anyway, the Upper Sec has started their MYE. And soon it will be the Lower Sec. Dang dang dang ... Do take not that after exams there will be lots of exciting programs coming up! CHOIR CAMP! But leave that aside first. Concentrate on exams! If the Lower Sec need any help, do not hesitate to approach the seniors ok?

P.S. You can ask me about Science but not Maths, please. Haha.

Tips on building the "mood" to study:

1. Look forward to the exciting events/occassions that are coming up. (eg. Mothers' Day, Vesak Day, Marking Day, June Holidays, Choir Camp, Pet's birthday, News on Swine Flu, etc....)

2. Mark the days till the last day of exams!

3. During the weekend, wake up early in the morning and start studying. Because in the afternoon or evening or even at night, for sure you will lose the enthusiasm to study.

Time Flies SO very fast.

It is the 22nd of april 7.10pm sharp.

we have exactly 15hrs and 50 mins before we go onto that stage at VCH..

When you are on that stage, everyone just GIVE IT YOUR BEST SHOT!! Cause apparently,we only have one shot. One chance to prove the judges that we are worthy of A GOLD!!! Some of us have worked so hard for 2 whole years for this one last chance. 2 years for just 5 mins in the spotlight.

Those few minutes will come and go very fast(speaking from experience). Before we know it,our one chance is gone. And our fate lies in the hands of 7 judges. If we give it our best, have no regrets whatsoever, whatever the outcome, promise me that everyone will be happy ok!

Tmrw 6.30am sharp. Be there and sing well. Good luck to all of us!

Hey hey hey! How are you people!

It's been a tiring week. Yes, yes. And everybody's broke. Why? Buy so many Salonpas. HAHAHA!!! Jkjk. Anyways, I just want to say some things here:

1. Eat and rest well
2. Avoid fried, oily, salty, crackery, chocolatey food.
3. Have an early night everynight.
4. Do you homework while waiting for practices to start so that at night you can study.
5. Don't scream or sing pop songs too much. We all can be rockers after 23rd April.
6. Don't forget your studies. A lot of the past choir seniors were Top Students in our school for O levels you know!!!
7. Let's say anyone bullies you, and you are the type of person who gets irritated easily, don't shout. Just shut your mouth like as if you just locked it and you lost the key. Then after SYF you can suddenly scream at the person's ear until he/she goes deaf! Yeah!
8. Don't fall sick. I mean, you can't help falling sick but just take VERY GOOD care of yourselves.
9. Listen to all SOPRANO, MEZZO AND ALTO leaders.
10. ALL THE BEST FOR OUR SYF!!!!

Hey everybody! It's EARTH HOUR! Ok, by the time you read this, it's not Earth Hour anymore. But whatever it is, Earth Hour or not, we must be considerate on the electricity we use. We have to save our precious home, alright? I'm typing in darkness now and the only light is from my computer.

Actually, it's quite fun to be in this darkness. With the cool air blowing in... And all my friends with me on msn. Ok, so much for saving electricity. Well, all I want to say is: Appreciate what you have. There are people out there who are suffering more than what you suffer everyday. (Does that make sense? Lol.) The ice on both poles are melting. Melting I say! Polar bears are suffering with their thick fur! Just remember, kindness begets kindness.

OKAYS PEOPLE! this are some of the rules that have been told to you're today..
Please follow them closely to your heart. We have EXACTLY a month t 23RD APRIL 'O9.

1. Stand in proper position - Hands by the side, kness slightly apart.
2. Look out for Mr Foong's timing. DON'T RUSH.
3. NO DREAMING or staring into space or looking at anywhere else BUT Mr Foong. Focus!
4. Pay attention to Mr Foong's gestures. THEY MEAN SOMETHING.
5. Flow with the music and enjoy it. Don't look as dead as a fish.
6. After each song, DON'T MOVE. (On stage)
7. Listen to one another.
8. Get the notes from the piano - it helps.
9. Sing with support - No airy voices!
10. Listen to your leaders at all times.

Today is a day for reflection.
So, everybody, lets just reflect on what you have really done these 3months.
Is it enough?

Did you deserve to get into SYF?
Don't let yourselves or those that supports you, hopes dashed.
Understanding is the first step for greater heights.
If you dont understand the purpose, you have no mission.
And if you have no mission, you're no different from a zombie.
Everybody have their missions in life.
So, lets start making a mission now and accomplish it...we can do it! You just got to believe.
If individual one of you put in a little more effort what would be the result that we can obtain?
If you just listen to us earlier and understand..and don't be rebellious or anything, would you even get scoldings?
We don't like to scold anyone. We are once just members scolded by leaders too.
I know the feeling is not good or nice.
But at least we chose to listen and produce.
Now, The choice is up to you, and the tension is building up.
Make use of this tension as motivation. Motivation for you to climb greater heights.
Understand the purpose and reason why you've chosen from the start.
You know the answers to every questions we asked.
So, why not listen out abit more?

NO. 1 > there is absolutely NO choir on this Friday, 6th Feb 2009, because of cross country
tomorrow.

NO. 2 > Please be reminded there will be NO practices on next Thursday & Friday ( 12 - 13 Feb) as there are sec3 camp & sec2 outing.

NO. 3 > For people with the correct CD ( with the alto's part edited), PLEASE
listen to the CD and have a sing-a-long session with the music!

NO. 4 > Sopranos & Mezzos, just listen to the original CD ( without the alto's part edited ) , and practice.

NO. 5 > Remember to get a PROPER BLACK FILE to keep your scores and BRING THEM!

NO. 6 > Please hand in the workshop form to the teachers ASAP!

NO. 7 > Be CONSIDERATE at all times. While other section(s) are having pratices w or w/o
Mr Foong and your in the room too, YOU SHOULD BE KEEPING QUIET.
You dont wish that others are making noise too while your having pratices right? (:

NO. 8 > You are reminded to arrange your shoes in an orderly manner and bags are to put at
the SIDE of the room. E.g music rm - the side with the mirrors.

Hey all! The year is coming..the year of 2009! The year of SYF!!! Hope everyone wants to go back to sch! Not really for the studying but more for the friends! Haha.( I didn't say that ok)
Out of the holiday mood and back to hardworking mood!

For those who have gone to batam,PLS don't forget what you have learnt there so that you can teach the rest and then everyone can sing better! Just a few announcements that some people might not know: Practice next year will be on Tuesdays,Thursdays and Fridays. We are not going to sing kishu anymore(sniff sniff). We will inform the choir when choir resumes asap!=) Please memorise your "White Horses"

As you guys know,the seniors are officially going to be graduating on 31 dec... (Sniff Sniff Cry Cry)
Hopefully,the farewell would supply you guys(the seniors) with more memories of us! Haha,by the way,chu ping cried!! Awwww!! Haha im not going to talk about myself. We will always remember the seniors! RIGHT CHOIR??
Ok,cannot be sad..because they are graduating! So thats a good tHing! I thInk...Haha.

Hey Guys! By now,you guys should know that there is going to be a party! A FAREWELL PARTY for our BELOVED SENIORS!! Here are the details.

Date: 23rd Dec 2008, Tuesday
Venue: East Coast Park
Timing: 11am to 6pm

Everyone will meet (23rd Dec) at school at 10 am at the back gate. By 10.10am the leaders will bring you to east coast park where we will HAVE A GREAT PARTY!! For those of you who have valid reasons to go off earlier or come later its ok!

As you guys know.. Party-ing needs some $$$$.. So if you havent paid your choir fund for Jan-Dec 2008,please be in school at the canteen on 22dec in school to pay.=) (dont think we would let you get away...HAha just kidding)

Don't forget to bring your personal stuffs like your toiletries, UNDERGARMENTS, hair brush, etc. Undergarments are important coz there'll be 4 days and 3 nights. Imagine the same underwear worn 7 times. Eeewww......!!!!!

All the attendace Choir practices during the holidays are COMPULSORY .
If you are unable to make it , MC or parent's letter is required

Many people have not been singing out loudly during choir .
If we keep on with this standard , how are going to perform in Batam ?
Plus our choir is a small choir .
If everyone is not singing out , then we going up there is just losing face .
no offence ya !
If ours is a small choir , and everybody sings out their part loudly and correct ,
everybody will be like : "WOW ! this school is good ."

Hey everybody! On 19th July Kelvin & Marissa & Colour Guards from Band performed @ Toa Payoh HDB Hub!!! Many came to support and we thank you guys for supporting!!! It was an amazing performance and it was very courageous of them to perform for more than 500 people! They did such an amazing job and all of us had a lot of fun. Hello everybody! I hope everyone is doing well in school now?

Anyway, aren't you excited about our Batam trip!!! Trust me, it'll be a whole lot of fun!!! You can ask the seniors about it.

Important note:

1. During practice, please please please sing out loud. Don't be afraid. Because if everyone is afraid, then who is going to be the one who is not-afraid? If one by one everyone sings out LOUD and with CORRECT PITCH, then choir will sound very good! Don't embarrass yourself and don't be embarrassed.

2. Please focus when Mr. Foong is teaching. He is very busy these few months and he comes to Bowen Chorale wanting to see much much improvement. Imagine if all his choirs are all so soft....chatterbox.....don't listen to instructions...... (eh, but won't happen ah, coz he is an excellent conductor!)??? Wah, sure die of boredom! He will also feel hopeless to teach you guys!

Ok, imagine you are a music instructor, you're so tired of having lessons every week. In the morning go to School A, then in the afternoon drive to School B. Then still need to go buy petrol. Wah, then got traffic jam coz got accident on the road. Everyday sure have accident. Then after that drive and rush to School C. Wa biang! Then every week on this particular day, you have to teach this class for music lessons. Then this particular class, wah, so stubborn! Ask them open their mouth don't want. I think you'll be complaining, "Wah! Every week I come, see the same all thing! I rather not get paid than have to teach this class lah!" Wah, music teacher no hope, the class also no hope.

But that one is only example ok. I don't want to see choir slacking. I want choir to achieve lots of goals and be respected by teachers and fellow bowenians. The leaders also want to see improvement in the way you sing, your attendance and your discipline in choir. So we hope that choir will change for the better and remain as one of the good CCAs in the Performing Arts!!!

So anyway, this is the video of Dancing Song in the original language. Very lively! And also Now Is The Month Of Maying video. Only 4 people singing. Should follow them as example. They can sing so loud with only 4 people.

Be in the school foyer by 8.30am if you want to catch the bus to the auditorium. for those whose parents are fetching you there, please be there by 9.30am.

Hey guys!!!! I hope you guys had fun at the rehearsal the past few days! Actually, I love going home late at night because

1) Got reason for not doing homework so when teacher scolds, I can tell her that I went home late at night for rehearsal then she paiseh!! Haha!

2) We can experience how adults go home late at night, how your parents suffer during the 1/2 hour traffic jam!!!

3) Can enjoy the ride home in the aircon bus. For sec1s, you may be going for trips to historical sites during september hols and you will experience the kind of feeling when you're going home and can't wait to see your parents!!!

Anyway, I have pictures of the 3-day rehearsals and that was the time when choir actually bonded and I had fun! Dear Bowen Chorale

Hello guys, it was nice meeting you all today. You all struck me as people who really love to sing.

It was a fantastic feeling hearing again the song ‘Hikariga’ after a long time, I missed singing that ol’ jumpy song. Its beat got stuck in my head for days even after we performed. I like that song. It invokes feelings of peace and joy.

I loved the second song better. The claps and the stomping grabbed my attention. The background drums enhanced it all. Of course, your outfit showed the overall liveliness (which you are never short of).

The last song that you sang, in my opinion were highly appropriate for the scene. It was nostalgic seeing you guys up there on stage, wearing our SYF 2007 garments.

I can’t quite believe how much improvement there is. Honestly, you guys became better in a sense that you became more cooperative as a group, and all of you listened attentively. You all are also quicker to respond. I like that. But most of all, I saw the perseverance you all had in you.

Of all these however, I can say that there are things that we can focus to improve on. Remember, we improve best by feedback so I hope that my suggestions do help not only in this performance but for the succeeding ones as well.

As a performer, we should entertain people with what we do on stage. We have to understand that performing takes a lot of courage. We must know how to act, and hide our shyness elsewhere for a moment of time (I leave mine backstage). Onstage, we must look pleasing therefore we must smile when we’re ‘supposed to be smiling’. Enjoy yourselves while performing lah… be comfortable! And do keep your poise ^.^

Do sing with passion. I think it’s the first step to becoming a great performer. When there is passion, other traits will eventually follow such as confidence, hard work, perseverance and a lot more others. Do you think our audience will be delighted if we were to go up there performing a tad lesser than our best? Would you feel a sense of achievement if this were the case?

As you heard, the hall wasn’t built to accommodate choirs as its acoustics doesn’t allow voices to reverberate within the hall. This is good news as it’s a good time to become independent. My point is, we should learn our pieces very well when we’re performing as it would minimize our mistakes onstage. Hence, there’s a better production.

Like I said, SSA choir is like a hamburger. Altos are the bottom-most bun, Sop2s the tasty layer and the Sop1s the top-most bun. These complete the whole. See, there’s a purpose for every part. The altos are there for support, the sop2s for the taste and the sop1s for the beauty of it all. So shall we be served wholly?

Once again, I salute your perseverance and wish you all the best on Saturday’s performance. I had enjoyed today’s practice.

Do enjoy the sweets!
